PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION:

The VOV sifter is designed to operate on the principle of vector movement where by the green leaf withered leaf moves forwarded by means of the combined vertical & forward thrust of the AISI 304 SS bed.
The Machine has a series of perforated plates along its length to extract sand, small stones, twigs etc., before feeding into the following equipment in the process line. The Machine improves the feed characteristics of the subsequent processing through the disintegration of lumps and effective reduction of the level of contaminants in the tea substrate.

SALIENT FEATURES

1. The Crank Movement of the sifter is on both the vertical and horizontal planes to enable reciprocating movement as well as facilitate the vibrations.

2. The amplitude of the vibration is defined by the cranking profile as described in the coordinates of the vector cam; a fundamental proprietary aspect of the Marshall Fowler design.

3. AISI SS 304 construct ensures food grade material contact with tea substrate.

4. The AISI SS 304 bed has perforations that function as a sieve to eliminate sand, pebbles, twigs and other miniscule contaminants from the tea leaves substrate for the next equipment in the processing sequence.

5. The amplitude of the vibrations and the resolution of the movement as a vector facilitate the breaking of the lumps of the tea leaves into smaller clusters to facilitate subsequent processing.

6. adequate damping of the chassis is built into the design to minimize the impact of momentum in both the OY-OX axes.

7. The Oscillating legs are fabricated in teflon flat to reduce the reactive loads arising out of the vector profile of the reciprocating movement.

8. Powerful magnets can be mounted as an optional element to eliminate the metallic parts and other related ferrous matter from the tea clusters

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION:

1. Standard dimensions of the food grade conveyors are L-3000 mm x W – 800 mm x H – 500 mm. However, the conveyor dimensions can be customized to meet specific requirements.

2. Standard motor rating for the equipment is 2 HP. However, the power requirement shall be governed by the dimensions of the conveyor.

A.    PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

The cranking profile is designed to sift green leaf fines after rolling. The      tray movement is either reciprocating or rotary. The fines extracted              through the mesh after sifting are discharged by the SS discharge chutes      and subsequently fermented and dried. The tea leaf bulk passing over          the trays is sent for subsequent rolls.

SALIENT FEATURES:

1. The anchoring of the machine is on pedestals .The robust framework            mounted on heavy duty spherical roller bearings with adequate static          and dynamic load bearing capacities provide a buffer of 175-225%                reactive load factor over the peak cranking load.

2. Cast iron pedestals of heavy duty material specifications are used in            fabrication to ensure higher compressive loads for the cranking                      momentum.

3. AISI SS 304 food grade steel is used for all contact points on the tea              substrates inclusive of the lining for the trays, the plenum chamber and        the chutes.

4. The retention time on the trays can be varied through the adjustable            legs in the front since these are designed to alter the wavelength for the        cranking motion.

5. The machine is equipped with four discharge chutes of AISI SS 304 –            food grade steel at a ground clearance of 600 mm. This permits easy              conveyorization.

6. The plenum chamber has a ground clearance of 150 mm to facilitate              proper cleaning of the equipment.

7. The mesh frame is coated with food grade paint that has anti-corrosive        colloids in the paint emulsion to enable the equipment to be protected          from the vagaries of nature.

1. Overall dimensions (in mm)  -  4500 (L) x 1525 (B)  x  900  (H)

2. Sifting Mesh is of AISI SS 304 – food grade steel of 5 Gauge,                           corresponding to a thickness of 1.5 mm.

3. The drive has a 1.5 HP TEFC 4-pole IE2 motor of reputed make with DOL       starter.

4. Throughput - 400-600 Kgs/hour, depending on the quantity of fines and       big bulk in the rolled leaf.
